Auto aim (target lock / laser-style lock on some panes) keeps the cannon focused on a chosen fish while you fire. It reduces thumb wobble. It does not remove miss cost or guarantee a kill.

What Lock Changes
You spend less attention on tracking. You may spend more ammo because holding fire on a tough lock is easy. Lock is a convenience tool with a burn risk.
Good Lock Habits
- ◈Lock only targets you can finish inside a budget.
- ◈Unlock if another cannon is clearly finishing the same fish.
- ◈Unlock if the balance drop accelerates past your plan.
- ◈Practise lock cost on demo credits first.
Bad Lock Habits
Locking the loudest boss on sight. Leaving lock on while you look away. Treating lock as a “hack” substitute. Hack claims fail for other reasons; lock is still a paid tool.
